The East Bay Holocaust Education Center, in partnership with the Contra Costa JCC, Cong. Beth Emek and the EBIJFF, is presenting When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit on Sunday, March 6 at 9:45 AM at the Vine Cinema in Livermore. "We've booked both theaters inside the Vine," notes EBHEC President Larry Lagin, "and will follow the county's pandemic social-distancing regulations."
The German-Swiss film is based on the best-selling book by Judith Kerr, which itself was based on the author’s own experiences as a pre-teen. This engaging drama follows nine year-old Anna Kemper as she and her mother and brother escape from 1933 Berlin to Zurich, before moving to Paris and finally to London. Until their departure, Anna is too occupied with her friends and schoolwork to notice the rise of Nazism and the upcoming election. Her father, however, has taken Adolf Hitler’s speeches very seriously, and his life is endangered after…
