In the fall of 2022, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu put together a winning political coalition and also released his autobiography, Bibi: My Story. We go to historian and political scientist Avi Shilon for his assessment of the memoir in which the longest running Prime Minister in Israeli history weaves together his personal story with the story of his country and the Jewish people.
Shilon has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tsinghua University and at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He is also the author of the books, The Decline of the Left-Wing in Israel: Yossi Beilin and the Politics of the Peace Process (2020), Ben-Gurion: His Later Years in the Political Wilderness (2016), and Menachem Begin: A Life (2012) as well as articles in Middle Eastern Studies, The Jewish Quarterly Review and Middle East Journal.
